“Gabi and Pierre La’Pu” is designed for children. It is about life,  compassion, empathy and  the loss of a loved one.  It is a lesson in tolerance, patience and acceptance. Five-year-old Gabrielle Graham is diagnosed with leukemia.  While being treated for her disease she gets a puppy whom she names Pierre La‘Pu.  Pierre, a wacky little basset hound, is discovered to also have a life-threatening illness.  The two of them share many trials in their young lives, but eventually mature together while enjoying multiple family adventures. In this book, Gabi has a visit from angels while nearly drowning. Upon sharing the experience with her family, they believe her story to be fantasy, a figment of her imagination, but is it?  This story deals with the possibility of life after death.  It is spiritual in nature and is meant to bring comfort and hope to children who have lost a loved one, or are suffering from a life-threatening illness.
